To achieve an ideal whiteboard surface, follow these steps: Preparation - Fill in any imperfections with decorators filler, sand the surface until smooth, and eliminate any remaining dust from sanding. We suggest applying two coats of White Primer and letting them dry overnight before putting on the Matte Whiteboard Paint.

Be sure to use different rollers for the primer and the Matte Whiteboard Paint. A smooth, lint-free roller or a foam roller is recommended.

Only paint the designated coverage area indicated on the can, as extending the paint too far can impact the whiteboard functionality. For the best outcome, roll over the surface multiple times to confirm full coverage and visually inspect each section for missed spots.

You cannot use permanent markers. Like a standard whiteboard, Matte Whiteboard Paint does not work with permanent markers. If you accidentally use permanent markers on the Matte Whiteboard Paint, we recommend using ourPermanent Ink Remover to clean it off.

One possible method is to write over the marker with a whiteboard marker. This will reactivate the ink, making it simpler to erase. After waiting two minutes, wipe it clean. If this method does not succeed, consider using Permanent Ink Remover which is available in our online store. This cleaner is formulated to eliminate permanent marker, tough stains, and ghosting from whiteboards and surfaces painted with Matte Whiteboard Paint.
