White Whiteboard Paint Reviews

The wipe board paint was extremely easy to apply – and the customer service was accessible and helpful! As a teacher you try to present as many different way as possible to to teach a concept and having the extra large dry erase wall helped us to teach concepts, facilitate games and student bonding and write instructions. We have no problem erasing everything with a multi purpose sponge eraser! It has been a HUGE learning tool for our classroom and we are forever grateful.

At any one time I work on 8-10 initiatives and your dry erase paint has enabled me to better visualize what I need to do. It’s useful for brainstorming and process evaluation, so much so that we’ve recently purchased it for our marketing department. It’s a great fit for our company.

We love it, and use it on a daily basis. We use it as a teaching example for financial planning. We blew our clients mind the first time she started writing on the wall. Thank you for creating such a great product

FAQ's

Whiteboard paint is a high-performance whiteboard paint that can be used to smooth surfaces like walls or desks, converting them into functional whiteboard areas that can be used with any standard whiteboard marker. Smarter Surfaces whiteboard paint for walls consists of two components that, when combined, create a dry erase surface where you can draw, write, and erase using dry erase markers.
The best whiteboard paint depends on the surface, desired functionality, and quality standards. Smarter Surfaces Whiteboard Paint is considered the best because it works on any smooth surface and meets high safety and environmental standards, including Fire, LEED, M1, VOC, IAC, low VOC, solvent-free, PFOA, PFOS, isocyanate-free, and California Proposition 65 compliance.

For white surfaces, use White Whiteboard Paint. For coloured surfaces or to preserve an existing finish, choose Clear Whiteboard Paint. Additional options like magnetic or projection functionality are also available.
Yes, whiteboard paint, or dry erase wall paint, is designed to function well. Smarter Surfaces Whiteboard Paint creates a smooth, erasable writing surface that works with dry erase markers and includes a 10-year warranty. Proper application will ensure it operates at its best.
In most cases, yes, you can paint over whiteboard paint. However, it's important to ensure proper adhesion and compatibility between the existing whiteboard paint and the new paint.
To eliminate stains from a whiteboard, start by using a dry erase eraser or a soft cloth along with a whiteboard cleaner. If the stain remains, apply Smarter Surfaces Permanent Ink Remover to the affected areas. This is a high-performance product that should not be used for everyday cleaning.

Standard whiteboard paint is not magnetic on its own. However, Smarter Surfaces offer a magnetic whiteboard paint. This product is designed so the surface is both magnetic and writable.
The Smarter Surfaces dry-erase board paint kit includes a roller. For best results, apply the paint using a mohair or lint-free short-pile roller sleeve. If you are using a mohair roller, remove all loose fibres before use. A simple way to do this is to wrap masking tape around the roller to pick up any loose fibres.
Whiteboard Paint can be applied to almost any smooth white surface, including walls, desks, furniture, glass, and partitions.
To preserve an existing coloured surface, we recommend using Whiteboard Paint Clear. It can be applied over any colour except white, as it may slightly tint the wall.
Yes, for a whiteboard finish on glass apply Smarter Surfaces Primer first. For a transparent finish, apply Whiteboard Paint Clear directly to the glass, or for a standard whiteboard finish apply Whiteboard Paint. Alternatively consider Smarter Surfaces Self Adhesive Whiteboard Films which can be applied directly to glass.
Yes. Ensure that the surface is smooth before application. Fill any holes with a filler. Apply White Primer before applying Whiteboard Paint White (or apply Clear Primer before applying Whiteboard Paint Clear). Sand after each coat of primer and re-apply primer as required.
Yes, painting over wallpaper is possible. You can apply Whiteboard Paint over smooth wallpaper only. Do not apply over a textured wallpaper. For a white finish, apply 2 coats of Whiteboard Primer. For a clear finish, use 2 coats of Clear Primer if the wallpaper is porous.
Yes. Smarter Surfaces product has been tested to withstand temperatures up to minus 16 degrees celsius and is UV light (ultraviolet) resistant. However, the area should be sheltered and dry to ensure best performance. Please note Whiteboard Paint should not be stored for an extended period of time below zero.
Wipe Board Paint is used in very hot climates worldwide, including the Middle East and Australia. Its UV resistance ensures that interior surfaces will not yellow, even under extreme heat.
Whiteboard Paint has not been tested for slip resistance and as with any painted finish it could wear according to the traffic on it. Our performance guarantee is as a dry erase paint and does not extend beyond that.
Whiteboard Paint is an ideal whiteboard repair product for most surfaces. Whiteboard Paint can be applied directly onto existing whiteboards after applying White Primer (please note a primer is necessary before whiteboard paint application), just ensure all marker residue has been removed. For blackboards, we recommend you wipe the surface down with a damp cloth to remove any old chalk. Next, coat the blackboard with White Primer. To complete, apply Whiteboard Paint.
A primer helps give a surface a smooth finish. Secondly, they act to ‘seal’ a surface. This means that when you apply Whiteboard Paint on a surface that has been primed, the properties within Smarter Surfaces whiteboard paint will stay on the wall rather than being absorbed into the wall. In summary, using a primer or sealer means you will get a smoother surface with optimum write-on-wipe-off functionality.
A normal fan heater can be used to speed up the drying process. An infrared lamp can also be used but it can’t be placed too close to the surface.
Yes, Whiteboard Paint is completely safe. It is solvent-free, has very low VOC, and meets high environmental and safety standards including Fire, LEED, M1, VOC, and Indoor Air Comfort certifications. Gloves are recommended during application.
Whiteboard paint is 100% free of Isocyanates. Unlike some poorer quality products on the market we do not use isocyanates in Smarter Surfaces whiteboard paint or any of our products which is a hazardous product and should only be used by trained professionals using rigorous safety procedures.
When applying market board Paint, use the gloves included in the kit. Also, safety goggles should be worn. As with any painting task, ensure proper ventilation in the room.
Whiteboard Paint is not flammable and is certified for fire performance making it certified for use in schools and offices. Whiteboard Paint has a very high flashpoint above 158 degrees fahrenheit.
Yes, it is completely safe to apply dry erase paint around adults and children as it is certified as an extremely low VOC and low odour product. Whiteboard Paint does not contain any isocyanates which means it is extremely safe to use around people.
There are two ways you can remove marker board paint from skin. The first option is to mix salt into warm water and rinse your hands with the solution. The second option is to use a premade material called sand soap which can be purchased in any good car parts store.
Whiteboard Paint can be cleaned with any Xylene based cleaner. This can be easily found in DIY or motor stores. Please note, this is not suitable for removing Whiteboard Paint from skin.
Your Whiteboard Surface can be wiped clean with a regular dry or slightly damp cloth. For easier cleaning, you can also use any standard Whiteboard Cleaning Spray. For tough or stubborn marks, we recommend customers use Smarter Surfaces Permanent Ink Remover.During the first 30 days from application, we recommend cleaning your surface every day using the supplied Micorfibre Cloth. After 30 days it is recommended to thoroughly clean the surface weekly with a standard whiteboard cleaner.
This is likely due to either improper application or the paint has been “stretched” over an area larger than advised. The Whiteboard Paint application guide must be followed for all applications. The paint is formulated specifically to cover the area specified on the kit and cannot be stretched to cover an area greater than we recommend.
We recommend you try Smarter Surfaces Permanent Ink Remover on troublesome areas of your surface. This is an extremely high performing product which is not suitable for daily cleaning. If you would like advice on any issue, please email a picture of the affected area, along with your order number and total surface size (in square meters) to support@smartersurfaces.ca.
Frequent use of alcohol on Whiteboard Paint may compromise the quality of your surface and diminish its effectiveness. We've created our line of cleaning solutions to ensure outstanding cleaning results while preserving the quality of your surface. You can view our complete selection of cleaning products.
No, similar to any standard whiteboard, Whiteboard Paint is not suitable for use with permanent markers. If permanent markers are applied, we recommend using Smarter Surfaces Permanent Ink Remover for removal.
You might be able to erase a permanent marker by writing over it with a whiteboard marker, which will reactivate the ink, making it easier to wipe away. After waiting two minutes, wipe it off. If this does not work, utilize Smarter Surfaces Permanent Ink Remover available on our online store. This specialized cleaner is designed to tackle permanent marker, stubborn stains, and ghosting issues on whiteboards and whiteboard-coated surfaces.
Dry Erase Paint is available in a white finish or a clear (transparent) finish. The clear finish allows you to retain the original color or graphics on your wall and benefit from whiteboard functionality.
Whiteboard Paint can be used as a projector surface with short throw projectorsalthough it was not designed for this purpose. Many of our education and business customers use Whiteboard Paint as a projection surface (as well as a whiteboard surface). For a better quality projection surface, please use one of our projection screen solutions specifically designed for projection.
If you notice a ‘hotspot’ on the surface, simply re-angle your projector to eliminate it. If you require a high-performance projector surface we recommend using one of Smarter Surfaces Projector Paints. If you are looking for a surface with both projector and whiteboard functionalities, choose our Whiteboard Wallpaper Low Sheen.
Yes, we recommend using Smarter Surfaces Super Magnetic Paint or Smarter Surfaces Magnetic Plaster. For a rapidly installed magnetic and writable surface, choose Smarter Surfaces Magnetic Whiteboard Wallpaper instead. Learn more here.
Smarter Surfaces Whiteboard Paint lasts at least 10 years with proper care.

White Whiteboard Paint - Easy Installation Guide

How To Apply White Whiteboard Paint?

Whiteboard Paint White can be easily applied by anyone, without professional help.

To achieve an impeccable dry erase board finish, please follow these steps:

  • Step 1 - Fill any imperfections on the surface with decorator's filler, then sand it smooth and eliminate any sanding dust.
  • Step 2 - Apply two coats of white primer, allowing it to dry overnight before applying the whiteboard paint.
  • Step 3 - Make sure you have sufficient whiteboard paint to cover the entire area, as stretching the paint can compromise the whiteboard's effectiveness.
  • Step 4 - Combine parts A and B of the paint and stir thoroughly. Using a new lint-free roller or foam roller, apply a generous, even coat by rolling over the surface multiple times to ensure complete coverage and no missed areas.
  • Step 5 - After finishing a section, pause and visually check for any unpainted spots.

Write and draw, and boost your collaboration using any standard whiteboard marker.
